 Many locations should anticipate another day of above-normal temperatures through the afternoon. This warmth over the region will help trigger areas thunderstorms from parts of the
southern Plains through the eastern valleys and into the Great Lakes. Some of these thunderstorms may become strong during the afternoon as daytime heating picks up. This activity is expected to reach into the Eastern Seaboard
from Thursday into Friday.
Meanwhile, in the West, the next in this week's series of Pacific storms will parade across the Northwest and Northern California through Friday, with another shot of rain and high-elevation snow. In addition to precipitation, high winds are anticipated near the Pacific Northwest coast and in the Cascades.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Wednesday ranged from a morning low of 15 degrees at Mullan Pass, Idaho, to a high of 88 degrees at Valdosta Regional, Ga.
