Dad: Son had housing stress before Ohio stabbings

[March 16, 2012]  COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The father of a man accused of stabbing four men in an Ohio office building says his son may have been stressed after the aunt he lives with told him to move out.

Ronald Mallett of Brooklyn tells The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/FPeEMC) one of three knives John W. Mallett had during the alleged attacks Wednesday came from the aunt's Columbus home. Police say the attacks appear random.

The father thinks Mallet may have gone downtown in search of a housing agency. He says, "I'm really, really sorry about the people he hurt."

He says his son is schizophrenic and that family had for years tried to get help, but were turned away.

Mallet says, "So you're going to wait until four people get stabbed, and now what? I mean, it's too late now."
