Polar Plunge draws large crowds

and large groups of plungers

Shirt sleeves and almost 70 degrees are not disagreeable even to the crowd.

The beach is packed as all prepare to face the flag for the opening ceremony, when Lesleigh Bennett beautifully delivered the "Star-Spangled Banner."

 

 

Wal-Mart is ready for the big day with the third-biggest group, at 19.

There is a lot of reveling in it being St. Patrick's Day.

 

Members of Team Curry are excited.

 

 

 

 

 

Lincoln Junior High really got into the event big this year, matching a signup challenge that brought a good-natured Mr. Froebe into the water with them. The Trojans, 40 in number, won most signups for the fundraiser.

 

 

Too young to plunge, but enjoying the revelry.
