[March 20, 2012]  The Woods Foundation board of directors has announced the mailing of solicitations for technology improvement grants being made available to all accredited school districts operating a school building in Logan County. The grants have a maximum availability of $20,000 per building and are specifically restricted for use in school buildings located in Logan County.

HardwareThis grant offering follows last year's well-received solicitation, whereby nine of the 11 accredited school districts operating in Logan County, representing 16 of 18 qualifying buildings, received $307,566.24.

These grants, being repeated this year but not intended to be ongoing, are for the specific purpose of technology acquisition or implementation and will enable teachers to give the students of Logan County a competitive advantage as they progress through their educational careers.

Last year all 16 of the grant applications submitted by the nine different districts were approved in their entirety by the board of directors.

The deadline for submission of the grant applications is 5 p.m. on May 1.

The Woods Foundation was made possible through the generosity of Robert J. Woods and Joan Jarrett Woods, who established and funded the foundation to carry on their long history of philanthropy.
