This week was  "Spring Escape" week at Washington-Monroe School.

Each year students shake off the winter blues with a week focused on a travel destination. This year's theme was outer space.

On Thursday a guest speaker came from the Challenger Learning Center in Normal. She brought an example of a space suit and dressed up Principal Ginger Yeazle in it while explaining the different parts.

Students then worked on craft projects, played games and ate space-inspired snacks.
