Illinois country grain prices were higher on Friday afternoon. A stronger  soybean market was supported by a smaller estimated size for Argentina's soybean crop and fund buying at the Board of Trade.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 1 to 3 cents higher at 6.28-6.41. Soybean bids traded 19 to 20 cents higher at 13.33-13.52.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 2 cents higher at 6.36-6.52. Soybean bids were 16 to 17 cents higher at 13.42-13.53.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 2 to 3 cents higher at 6.42-6.63. Soybean bids were 15 to 19 cents higher at 13.50-13.65. Wheat bids were 8 to 10 cents higher at 6.35-6.59.

Illinois Grains - Grain futures ended sharply lower for the week. While export news pushed prices higher last week, the lack of export news and
sales to China could not keep prices from falling. There were rumored sales to China early in the trading week, but nothing was ever confirmed.

Without that kind of news, traders were starting to focus on next week and the USDA's reports. On Friday, next week, the USDA will release their Prospective Planting and Quarterly Grain Stocks reports.
