Chisora to appeal loss of boxing license

[March 29, 2012]  LONDON (AP) -- Dereck Chisora's promoter says the heavyweight fighter has appealed the loss of his British boxing license.

The 28-year-old Chisora was stripped of his license indefinitely by the British Boxing Board of Control for his brawl with former WBA champion David Haye at a news conference soon after he lost a WBC title fight against champion Vitali Klitschko last month in Germany.

Frank Warren says "the appeal has gone in already. The grounds for the appeal are that we're not satisfied with the way the hearing went."

The BBBC was also left unimpressed by Chisora slapping Klitschko at the weigh-in and spitting water at his opponent's brother, Wladimir, before the fight.
