[May 01, 2012]  This year's American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Logan County has been formed, and it is not too late to join a team or create a new team. It is time to put more fight into destroying this disease, and that is the goal. Money raised in Logan County is used in Logan County for assistance to survivors. The list is extensive -- and any donation or participation increases the assistance and help that can be given.

The theme this year is "Celebrate Like It Is 2012."

All activities will be in the Lincoln Center on the Lincoln College campus from 6 p.m. Friday, June 15, through 6 a.m. Saturday, June 16.

Prior to the official opening, all survivors will be invited to a buffet hosted by John Guzzardo in the old gym at Lincoln College. Invitations will be in the mail in early May for those who have registered as a survivor in the past. New survivors, or those not registered in the past, are welcome to come, and if possible should call the survivor chair to assure receiving a survivor shirt, medallion and pin. There is no charge for shirts for survivors.

To register as a survivor, call Tonita Reifsteck, 732-9796 or cell 855-1645.

To join a team or start a new team, call Carol Motley, 732-8032.

To purchase luminaria, contact any team member or call Bill Post, 732-7564

With general questions on the Relay for Life event, call Jeff or Maritta Robinson, 671-2309.
