[May 02, 2012]  ATLANTA -- Hazel M. Swaim, 90, of Atlanta, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 9:50 a.m. at The Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Atlanta -- Hazel M. Swaim, 90, of Atlanta passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 9:50 a.m. at The Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Swaim will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Pastor Paul Weber will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Hazel M. Swaim was born November 19, 1921 in Crawford County, Missouri, the daughter of Henry and Mary Pinnell Schwidde. She married Scott Braden Bell in June of 1939. He preceded her in death in July 1969. She later married Archie Ambrose and then Walter Swaim, who both preceded her in death.

Hazel is survived by her children: Wesley (Debbie) Bell of Lincoln, Margaret (Wayne) Leesman of Atlanta, Jim (Marilyn) Bell of Mason City, Gerald (Kitty) Bell of Middletown, Rick (Annette) Bell of Lincoln, 18 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by one son: Chester Bell, two brothers, and three sisters.

Hazel was a member of the Atlanta Assembly of God Church and Royal Neighbors. During her lifetime, she worked at Bill’s Route 66 Restaurant, Stetsons and later for Ball Incon for twenty years. Hazel enjoyed working with flowers and gardening. She was a great quilter and made 32 quilts for her kids and grandkids.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad or Atlanta Assembly church.
