Mrs. Fuiten's fifth-grade
class at Carroll Catholic School won this year's Children's Health
Fair Classroom Challenge. All area fifth-graders were given the
opportunity to have a food drive in their schools, with the donations
distributed to area food pantries.
The second part of the
challenge was to create a food sculpture out of the boxed and canned
items. The school creating the best sculpture was deemed the winner.
As you can see, the students were very inventive.
The class winning the challenge was treated Thursday afternoon to a
movie, soda and a bag of popcorn at the Lincoln Theater 4. Lincoln Chief of Police Ken Greenslate sponsored this event through
the Lincoln D.A.R.E. program. David Lanterman, owner of the theater,
arranged for a private screening of "Pirates! Band of Misfits" for
the students and their chaperones.
The movie was a G-rated,
animated 3-D feature. Pictures
