[May 09, 2012]  McLEAN -- Sugar Grove Nature Center is offering a wonderful assortment of harder-to-find native perennials and shrubs to diversify your garden with color, height, foliage and beauty. The nature center will have a native plant sale on May 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Planting native species brings back our natural heritage while attracting wildlife to yards. Not only are the native plants beautiful, they are adapted to our long, cold winters and hot, dry summers. They require no fertilizer and, once established, do not require watering. These healthy, hardy, mature plants will arrive ready to begin landscaping your yard.

Quantities are limited and subject to supplier availability.

Members of the nature center receive a 10 percent discount on their total purchase and are invited to attend the early bird sale for members only on May 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. New members are welcome to join on the spot.

For a map and directions to the Sugar Grove Nature Center, as well as membership and program information, visit www.sugargrovenaturecenter.org. The center is located in beautiful, historic Funks Grove, just south of Bloomington-Normal.
