[May 09, 2012]  The Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership has announced that U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock will be the speaker for the partnership's annual fundraising luncheon in June.

The announcement noted the congressman's recent support of the small-business tax credit and continued support of agriculture communities. He has been an "unwavering supporter of Logan County communities" and "a superb representative of central Illinois," a news release said.

"It is through partnerships like the one we have with Congressman Schock that we will continue to make Logan County a great place to work and live. We are very excited Congressman Schock has agreed to be our keynote speaker this year," said Michael Maniscalco, executive director of the development partnership.

The luncheon will be on June 13 at the American Legion Hall, 1740 Fifth St. in Lincoln.

Tickets will cost $27.50, and table sponsors will be $500 for a full table and $250 for a half table. Tickets will be sold until May 29 and can be purchased online at www.lincolnlogan.com or by phone at 217-732-8739. Seating will be limited.

The Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership is a nonprofit charitable organization. All proceeds from the event will be used to enhance economic development and the quality of life in Logan County.
