[May 10, 2012]  On Wednesday, it may have looked like a school field trip on Fifth Street at about 9 a.m. Jefferson School students were actually participating in a reunification exercise as they filed down to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall and then back to the school.

The Logan County Emergency Management Agency coordinated the exercise with Principal Tammy Martin, local responders and officials. The Lincoln Police Department temporarily diverted traffic as part of the exercise.

Emergency response representatives included Lincoln Police Department Deputy Chief Mike Geriets, Lincoln Assistant Fire Chief Bob Danosky, and director Dan Fulscher, Terry Storer and Alana Sorrentino from the EMA office.

Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder also spoke to the assembly after the students arrived at the VFW.
