Matthew has been marching with the bass drum and has been a member of other school bands at Chester-East Lincoln School and LCHS for the past seven years. Under the direction of David Swaar, the Marching Railers have earned numerous percussion, drumline and field competition awards during Matthew's four years of participation.

Matthew is also a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout and a member of the National Honor Society. He is a member of Lincoln Christian Church and is hoping to teach math at a Christian middle school after graduating from Kentucky Christian University.
