It's that time
again. So get out there and go crazy raking in
all those bargains. Dozens of garage sales
are going on today in
Lincoln, and more than likely thousands of
interesting items to choose from. If you're
not into garage sales, then how about checking
out geocaching? This is a grown-up
treasure hunt using GPS. Both the citywide garage sales and the
geocaching are being
sponsored by the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau
of Logan County.

A
sculpture by British artist Antony Gormely is on display atop a
building in downtown Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Friday.
Brazilian media are calling Gormely's sculptures "suicide
statues." Firefighters have been called to the scene this week
by concerned citizens who mistook Gormley's life-size body cast
sculptures perched at the edges of tall buildings as despondent
people ready to jump.
Miami Heat forward LeBron James leaves the court
Wednesday after the Heat defeated the New York Knicks 106-94 in an NBA game
in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs in Miami. The
Heat won the series 4-1 to advance to the second round. James is the
NBA's MVP for a third time, putting him alongside some of the game's
all-time greats. A person familiar with the decision told The
Associated Press that James will be announced today as
this year's winner of the league's top individual honor, and that
he'll be formally presented with the trophy by Commissioner David
Stern on Sunday afternoon before Miami hosts Indiana in Game 1 of an
Eastern Conference semifinal series.
