It's no secret that in Logan
County when someone puts out the word that they need help, people dig
deep and come up with what is needed.
Right after the beginning of the year, the
Humane Society of Logan County started letting everyone know they were
going to participate in the Route 66 townwide garage sales and
needed donations of merchandise to sell.
What they got was almost unbelievable. According to HSLC director Ellen Burbage, by Friday the beer tent at
the Logan County Fairgrounds was very nearly standing room only, with
almost every inch of space being taken up with items for sale.
On Friday, the organization saw a huge turnout
of shoppers and brought in over $3,000.
Saturday there was another
huge turnout of shoppers, leaving Burbage to hope for another great
day of sales. All the
money raised through the HSLC garage sale will go directly to
supporting the work of the Logan County shelter.
