Navigating the streets of Lincoln may have been a bit difficult for some this weekend, as throngs of people set out in search of that perfect bargain at the Route 66 citywide garage sales.

There were dozens of sales, including those at private residences, local churches raising money for missions and large vendors who make much of their living through flea markets.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars post on Fifth Street hosted a flea market-style sale in their parking lot as well as inside their building. They also had a concession set up, selling food and drinks to hungry shoppers.

Saturday morning, drivers needed to be on their toes with so much traffic on Fifth Street.

This vendor offered many of the items that every little girl would enjoy having.

Jewelry is always a popular item at a flea market.

This young shopper digs through a big box, looking for something special.

"I don't know what I'm looking for; I'll just know it when I see it."

Shoppers enjoy a laugh with one of the vendors.

Barbie or Bratz, this vendor had a wide selection to choose from.

This vintage-looking hair clip is just waiting to catch some buyer's eye.
