[May 14, 2012]  The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce invites you to get out of the office and enjoy an afternoon of fun on June 1 at the Elks Country Club. This year's golf outing and dinner will have an Italian theme.

The chamber event is a fun-filled afternoon and evening of golf, dinner, drinks, silent and live auctions, and games. If you are not a golfer, that's not a problem. You can come for dinner, cocktails, auctions and fun that evening. With many ways to become involved, the chamber hopes that you find a way to participate.

The chamber is currently looking for teams, dinner reservations, auction items and sponsors. The event offers opportunities to businesses and organizations to partner with the chamber with many levels of sponsorship. Businesses can also donate auction items or baskets for the silent and live auctions to promote their services and products. Donating an item and being a sponsor are both great publicity and advertisement for your business.

The chamber golf event is open to the community and is a great way to network and promote your business. Playing golf with your clients is said to help secure business deals. They also say that people who play golf experience an 85 percent better chance of securing a business deal on the golf course than through conventional methods of marketing.*

The early registration deadline is May 21. Golfer registration and dinner reservation forms are available at www.lincolnillinois.com or by calling the chamber office at 217-735-2385. Sign up to have fun on a Friday in June.

The proceeds of the golf event go to support the chamber's mission to advocate, support and unify local businesses for the prosperity of Logan County.
