Memorial to host free pediatric event

[May 16, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- A free seminar on how to keep children healthy and safe while enjoying summertime activities will be offered May 23 at 6 p.m. in the Wedeberg Conference Center at Memorial Medical Center.

The hourlong session, "Fun in the Sun," will be led by Ashish John, M.D., and Teena John, M.D., pediatricians with Koke Mill Medical Associates. They will discuss warm-weather safety tips for your family, including sun safety, heat exhaustion, swimming advice, insect bite prevention, and bike and scooter safety.

The event will conclude at 7 p.m.

The Wedeberg Conference Center is on the hospital's lower level, near its main entrance. Memorial Medical Center is at 701 N. First St. in Springfield.

Free parking is available in the hospital's visitor parking lots across from the main entrance at Miller and First streets. Valet parking is also available.
