May 19, 2012]  The Logan County Salvation Army is sponsoring a free camp for kids this summer.

Children between the ages of 8 and 12 are invited to spend June 18 through 22 at Eagle Crest Camp in rural Washburn. The camp offers acres of nature and tons of indoor and outdoor activities, including swimming and sporting activities.

The Salvation Army director, Tony Shuff, and other volunteers will have a special registration day today (Saturday) at the Kid's Club Room of Centennial Courts. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Parents of interested children are encouraged to stop by, talk about the camp, ask questions and learn more about what the four-day event will include.

For those who cannot make it to the Saturday event, registration is open until May 30 and may be done at Salvation Army's Keest Center, 307 N. Kickapoo St. in Lincoln.
