In 2009 when Dr. Dru Hauter approached the Lincoln City Council and asked to use a portion of city-owned property behind the Wal-Mart Supercenter, not everyone in Lincoln and Logan County realized just how big a sport soccer is.

In reality soccer is one of the biggest sports in the world. While it has only in recent years taken hold in the United States, it is growing quickly.

The Lincoln Futbol Club has approximately 70 kids participating.

Sunday afternoon it was estimated that participating kids at the all-age game day totaled around 400. Teams are set up by age level and start with those under 8 years of age. The oldest teams are the U12, or under the age of 12.
