Movado, Dell, PetSmart are market movers

[May 24, 2012]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

NYSE

Movado Group Inc., up $2.92 at $28.86

The luxury watch seller reported strong first-quarter results. The company also raised its forecast for the year.

Guess Inc., up $1.59 at $26.03

The clothing seller said that its fiscal first-quarter profit fell nearly 38 percent, but its results still beat expectations.

NASDAQ

Dell Inc., down $2.59 at $12.49

The computer maker reported disappointing first-quarter results. It also forecast weak sales in its fiscal second quarter.

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., up 62 cents at $11.78

The video game publisher said that its fourth-quarter net loss more than tripled, but its sales were slightly better-than-expected.

PetSmart Inc., up $7.30 at $62.92

Stronger sales drove the pet products retailer's first-quarter profit above expectations. It also raised its full-year outlook.

Sycamore Networks Inc., down 50 cents at $14

Due to rising research and development costs, the communications equipment maker posted a deeper loss in its fiscal third quarter.

Wet Seal Inc., down 4 cents at $2.82

The teen retailer posted a first-quarter loss and said it is closing about 20 Arden B stores and will open fewer Wet Seal stores.

Compuware Corp., up 80 cents at $9.25

The software and services provider for information technology professionals said that its fourth-quarter profit fell 22 percent.
