[May 24, 2012]  NEW YORK (AP) -- JPMorgan says that Joseph Walker is rejoining the bank as a vice chairman of investment banking.

The appointment comes amid investigations into JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s $2 billion in credit derivative trading losses.

The bank, based in New York, says Walker will serve as a senior adviser to clients across sectors and industry groups.

Walker worked for JPMorgan for 22 years. He helped build the bank's mergers and acquisitions franchise, which he ran as co-head for three years.

JPMorgan says he went on to lead its technology, media and telecommunications investment banking units and was a member of the investment bank's management committee.

Walker left JPMorgan in 2001 and became a senior adviser to General Motors. He later co-founded KW Advisors, which advised companies in various industries.
