WARRENSBURG -- Shirley Rose Brown, 76,
of Warrensburg, died Monday, May 21, 2012, in Indianapolis, Ind.

Shirley Rose Brown, 76, of Warrensburg, IL.,
passed from this world to be with Jesus, her
husband, parents, brothers and sisters in
Heaven on May 21, 2012 in Indianapolis,
Indiana, surrounded by her family who loved
her dearly. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday, May 24,
2012 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in
Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM
on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Brintlinger and Earl
Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Travis
Bodden officiating. Burial will follow in
Boiling Springs Cemetery. Holland Barry &
Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of
arrangements.
Shirley was born April 22, 1936 in
Herrick, Illinois to Elijah and Velma
(Warren) Sarver. She married Derald A. Brown July 25, 1954 in
Decatur, Illinois. He preceded her in death
November 22, 2001. Shirley is survived by her children Scott (Dawn)
Brown of Lincoln, Illinois, Kathy (Rick) Fite of
Warrensburg, Illinois, and Sarah (Donovan) Lacox
of Decatur, Illinois. Grandchildren; Karey
(Rob) Vacca of Heyworth, Andy Brown of Lincoln,
Taylor Wood of Warrensburg, Spencer Lacox of
Decatur, Loan (Binh) Nguyen of Lincoln, Thao
(Michael) Mayberry of Atlanta, and Rick Fite Jr.
of Decatur. Great-grandchildren; Jesisca Nguyen
and Christopher Duong of Lincoln, Ayden and
Michael Vacca of Heyworth, Chase and Emily
Mayberry of Atlanta, and R.J. and Jaret Fite of
Harristown. Also surviving are sisters Rubye
(Wayne) Peckert and Joann Brewer, brothers Bob
(Ursula) Sarver and Roger (Marilyn) Sarver,
sister in laws Ruth (Charles) Hilliard and
Lolela Freeman along with several loved nieces
and nephews.

Shirley dedicated her entire life to her family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother,
and great- grandmother. She was affectionately
called "Old Grandma" by her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Shirley loved to see her
family smile when all gathered together for
holiday festivities and would spend her last
dime to achieve this. Shirley stayed active and
was a hard worker up to her last day on this
earth. She was equally devoted to a very special group
of friends from Warrensburg who regularly played
cards, ate out, traveled and visited the "River
Boat." Shirley was loved and admired by everyone around
her. She will be sorely missed, but has left
pleasant memories of dedication to family and
friends that will often bring smiles to all who
knew her. |
