Thursday all the students at Central School got an extra opportunity to spend time outside in the sunshine, learning the art of tie-dye.

Art teacher Heather McAfee brought out a couple of classes at a time, and together everyone learned how to design a T-shirt using rubber bands and blue dye.

On Friday all the children at Central will wear their new shirts on their end-of-the-school-year activity day.

Ms. McAfee shows everyone how they will proceed to make cool designs in their shirts.

After the show and tell from Ms. McAfee, kids start working on their shirts.

 

Kids can use as many or as few rubber bands as they like.

Ms. McAfee also had help on the project from students at the high school and some of the older grades at Central.

 

An upper-class student helps the youngsters.

At noontime the grade levels that were outside were kindergarten and first grade.
