Letters of Support

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Deputy coroners support Thomas

To the editor:

We, the undersigned deputy coroners, support Robert Thomas in his bid for re-election to the office of coroner.

Mr. Thomas has, through his leadership, earned our respect and trust. His expectations of our job performance are quite high. Of course, they should be, considering we are interacting with people during what may be the most traumatic, shocking, and/or emotionally stressing event they have experienced.

It is imperative, according to Coroner Thomas, that we not only show concern and compassion, but that we conduct ourselves in a manner befitting the respect and dignity deserved by the decedent and the family.

For each of us, it is an honor to serve the people of Logan County and a privilege to be a member of Coroner Thomas' staff. Hopefully, both he and we can continue that service should you find it appropriate to re-elect him as your Logan County coroner on Nov. 6.
