WLB Wolverines open home season with 2 wins vs. Bloomington Cornerstone Christian

[November 07, 2012]  To open up their home basketball season, the West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines hosted Bloomington Cornerstone Christian.

In the seventh-grade contest, Will Tiffany poured in nine points and grabbed four rebounds to lead the Wolverines (1-1) to a 28-13 victory. Zach Morris contributed seven points with three boards and two assists. In limited action, Jack Eimer added six points to go with his six steals, three assists and five rebounds. Rounding out the scoring were Blake Jones with four and Peyton Batley with two.

In the eighth-grade contest, the Wolverines (2-0) rode the excitement of a Jack Eimer buzzer-beating 3 at the half and an excellent team rebounding effort to run away from the Cyclones in the second half 57-30.

Preston Ebelherr led the attack with 18 points to go along with nine assists and five steals. Alex O'Donoghue grabbed eight rebounds and scored 10 points, while Casey Mollohan grabbed 11 and added nine points. Also scoring for WLB were Nate Sprague with eight, Eimer with five, Morris with five and Ryan Steffens added two.

The Wolverines will next host Delavan on Nov. 13.
