ALMH to host 'Advances in Stroke Treatment and Recovery' seminar

[November 08, 2012]  Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital will host a free community education event on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the latest advances in stroke treatment and recovery.

"Advances in Stroke Treatment and Recovery" will feature three medical staff members and provide a question-and-answer panel for participants to ask questions. Join the medical director of the ALMH emergency department, Katherine Anderson, D.O., of Mid-America Emergency Physicians, along with Dr. Sajjed Mueed from SIU HealthCare and Dr. Agusto Elias from Clinical Radiologists to learn about stroke.

Those in attendance will learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke and the processes for evaluation and medical management of a stroke. The panel will also discuss the new Telestroke technology available at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and neurointerventional treatment options.

The event will take place in Steinfort A and B conference rooms at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Registration is not necessary, but interested individuals can call 217-605-5008 to register or for more information.
