God’s Doing It Again…

Send a link to a friend

Remember the words “Do it again, Daddy!” I could have just entered the room doing several back flips; landed on the edge of the sofa; sprung board off into a swan dive across the room, landing on the entertainment center; and doing a half twist dismount and sticking the landing on the floor, and some child with lit up eyes would laugh and say, “Do it again, daddy!”

I could have attempted the same series of back flips, landing on my head and laying there in the pain of a cracked skull and still hear a child’s laughter saying, “Do it again.” Children love to see you do it again.

The last time I was out West, standing at the edge of the Grand Teton Mountains in all their splendor and largeness, I found myself in a moment of soaking up the view and praising the Creator and deep inside my spirit, I wanted to shout, “Do it again, Father.”

The last time I was walking the sea shore or taking in a red sky sunset or gazing at a clear night star filled sky, everything in my being wanted to cry, “Do it again.”

We get why a child wants to watch Daddy do the spectacular again and again. We’re the same way. And if we slow down enough and allow our spirit to open up to really taking in the wonders of God’s creation; well before long, you too will be saying, “Do it again, Daddy!”

The tree just outside my office window is now in full color. Some mornings, the sun hits it just right and the tree appears to be on fire. Its beauty is overwhelming. As I stand here gazing at it, I sometimes say quietly, “Do it again.”

We’re starting a series of sermons titled, “God’s Doing It Again.” Of course, God has always had a big heart for the church. When the church first began, it kicked off with a lot of fire and excitement and it was easy to see God’s hand moving. Even today, within certain congregations at certain times, you can clearly see God doing it again. That’s what’s happening here at Lincoln Christian Church. God is doing it again!

We have had wonderful growth recently. Our worship attendance is growing. Our finances are very healthy. And now, with the Our Time Campaign, we’re getting our facilities in strong physical shape as well. There is an excitement and joy here that is hard to deny.

What's even more thrilling than all that, people are accepting the Lord and are being baptized. Our numbers are up across the board. As you can see, we have a lot to be thankful for.

As we enter into the second year of the Our Time Capital Campaign, we want to make sure we keep the blessings coming. But more importantly, we want to make sure God gets all the praise for it.

I invite you to come and hear all the wonderful things God is doing for our ministry and within the hearts of His people. You will clearly see as we all have, “God’s Doing It Again!”
