When the Humane Society of Logan County began meeting in 2006, it was with nothing but wishes. With little in hand, the group quickly organized and in months began saving animal lives, pairing pets with loving owners.

Slowly the group of dedicated volunteers has built a solid organization. Their focus and persistence brought the construction and opening of a facility this year.

With much to celebrate, the board hosted an HSLC volunteer appreciation dinner on Thursday evening. Volunteers stopped by the Oasis for pizza and fellowship all evening.

HSLC president Ellen Burbage and fundraiser chair Marsha Brown both said: "Volunteers are what we run on. We couldn't do it without them."

LDN congratulates the board for their achievements and also expresses our appreciation to all the volunteers for all their efforts. HSLC improves our quality of life by caring for unwanted animals and then pairing pets and families.
