Lady Eagles vs. Champaign-St. John Lutheran

[November 12, 2012]  The Zion Lutheran Lady Eagles eighth- and sixth-grade basketball teams defeated Champaign-St. John Lutheran School on Saturday.

The Lady Eagles won the eighth-grade game by the score of 34-6. Hailie Williams with 13 points led the seven Zion players who scored. Also scoring for Zion were Anna Sielaff with six, Katie Hunsley and Tori Tripplett with four each, Lauren Canady with three, and Brooklyn Hermes and Gabbie Cox with two points each.

The Zion Lutheran eighth-grade team now has a record of 11-2.

The Lady Eagles won the sixth-grade game 30-5. Fifth-grader Madelyn Koehler led ZLS with 18 points. Lane Prather scored eight points and Olga Harris scored four points.

Both teams will play at Chester-East Lincoln on Tuesday, with the first game starting at 6 p.m.

The sixth-grade team will participate in the Morton-Bethel Lutheran School Tournament this weekend. They will play Pekin-St. Joseph Catholic School on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
