What better way to start a fall weekend than with a wonderful Italian dinner.

The evening meal on Friday was prepared and served by Kiwanis at the Lincoln American Legion. The menu offered a choice of cavatelli or spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and of course a great selection of homemade desserts.

Kiwanis member Roy Logan said they made 24 gallons of homemade sauce from Marcia Greenslate's recipe, and it does have a secret ingredient that has made it so famous. It took them an hour and a half to make the sauce and about the same amount of time to make the pasta, all done on Friday morning.

All funds raised by the Kiwanis at the annual event go to support local youth programs.
