ISU women's hoops to host Memphis Sunday; tickets on sale now

[November 13, 2012]  FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- After the Illinois State women's basketball team lost to Iowa in the second round of the Preseason WNIT, the Redbirds moved to the third-round consolation bracket and will host Memphis on Sunday at 5:05 p.m., in Redbird Arena. The women will host the Tigers after the men's team hosts Delaware State at 2:05 p.m.

Sunday's game will mark the eighth meeting between Illinois State and Memphis. The Tigers hold a 6-1 advantage, but the Redbirds won the most recent game, on Feb. 7, 1980, by a score of 72-58, in Memphis, Tenn. In the 2012 Preseason WNIT, the Tigers defeated Grambling State 92-42 before falling to Middle Tennessee 82-68.

Memphis ended the 2011-12 season with a 25-8 mark and a 13-3 Conference USA record, finishing second in the conference. Like the Redbirds, the Tigers made it to the second round of the Postseason WNIT. They return two starters and six letter winners from last year's team.

Tickets for the third-round consolation game are now on sale through the Redbird ticket office. Adults may purchase a ticket for $8 to sit in the upper bowl of the men's game and the lower bowl for the women's game. There is also an $18 option for adults that includes lower bowl tickets for the men's game, as well as the women's game. A ticket for children 12 and under will cost $6, which includes an upper bowl ticket for the men's game. Reggie's Kids Club members must purchase a youth ticket. ISU students can purchase a ticket for $5 for both games. Red Alert members can claim a ticket the Redbird ticket office.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the Illinois State ticket office at the north entrance of Redbird Arena or by calling 309-438-8000. Ticket office hours will be posted on GoRedbirds.com.

Women's basketball season-ticket holders with a season parking pass will be able to park in the S-81 lot north of Tri-Towers Residence Halls if attending the men's game. For fans who are attending only the women's game, parking spaces in the lots adjacent to Redbird Arena will be available at the conclusion of the men's game.
