[November 21, 2012]  Boy Scouts from Lincoln Troop 111 hosted a food drive at Kroger on Saturday. Scouts worked in shifts for 11 hours and collected 729 pounds of food and $195.25. All of the proceeds benefited the Lincoln/Logan County Food Pantry.

Many of the Scouts got together again at the food pantry Saturday evening to turn in the money and food items. Lee Westerfield received the items and gave the Scouts a tour of the pantry, including the newly constructed waiting area.

The troop's community service project was part of the local council's Scouting for Food program.

Boy Scout Troop 111 is a new troop in Lincoln as of May and is chartered by iWorship. The troop has grown quickly to 16 registered Scouts and has been very active in community service projects, including ScoutSweep, the balloon fest and Together for Lincoln.
