MOUNT PULASKI -- The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers dropped a pair of games over the weekend in their Turkey Tournament.

Friday night the Toppers lost 79-40 to the Tremont Turks. Brady Thomas led Mount Pulaski with 19 points, while Michael Lowery and Matthew Amidon scored seven points each.

Saturday night the Toppers faced the Tri-City Tornadoes in what was a close game until the very end. With 7.8 seconds remaining, Tri-City's Scott Fishburn sank two free throws to put the Tornadoes on top 50-48. That would be the final score.

Once again Brady Thomas led the Toppers in scoring, with 22 points. Michael Lowery chipped in 10, and Matthew Amidon added six.

The Toppers' record is now even at 2-2 as they finished fourth in the tournament among eight teams. Mount Pulaski's Brady Thomas was named to the all-tournament team. He earned the recognition by averaging 16.8 points per game in the tournament.

This week the Toppers host Warrensburg-Latham on Tuesday night and travel to Springfield Calvary on Friday night.
