[November 30, 2012]  BLOOMINGTON -- One of Miller Park Zoo's most popular animals has gone digital. Rikka, one of the zoo's reindeer pair, has opened her own Twitter account and can be followed at https://twitter.com/RikkaReindeer.

It should be a busy time for Rikka as she and Ealu, the other adult reindeer at Miller Park

Zoo, are a large part of holiday-themed special events, including Breakfast with Santa & the Reindeer on Dec. 8, the nighttime Wild Lights event on Dec. 14 and 15, and the popular "Can Reindeer Fly?" presentation on Dec. 16.

"We're always looking for ways to give people an inside look at the animal world and the conservation efforts at Miller Park Zoo," says Jay Tetzloff, zoo superintendent. "This is prime time for reindeer, who love the cooler weather and have their antlers fully grown out. It's a great time to come to the zoo and visit."

The zoo and posts updates and photos on Facebook and can also be followed on Twitter at https://twitter.com/MillerParkZoo.
