 "In 2013 we will be providing our patrons and sponsors with an
exciting lineup of new productions and a few advantageous scheduling
changes, making for a very memorable season," said Tom Frost, Muni
president.The Muni will present "Les Miserables," sponsored by
McGladrey, June 21-23 and 26-30; "Dreamgirls," sponsored by Illini
Bank, July 12-14 and 17-21; "Peter Pan," sponsored by County Auditor
Paul Palazzolo, Aug. 2-4 and 7-11; and "Rent," sponsored by
Springfield Clinic, Sept. 6-7, 12-14 and 19-21.
Two productions this season will have an earlier start time. The
first two shows of the Muni's 2013 season will begin at 8:30 p.m. as
usual, but the third show will begin at 8 p.m. and the fourth show
at 7:30 p.m.
"Over the years many of our patrons have indicated a desire for
an earlier curtain call time," Frost said. "In seeking a balance
between the wishes of our loyal audience and the need for it to be
dark enough outside to properly light our stage, we found the answer
in, of all places, The Farmer's Almanac, which we used to help set
new curtain call times, based on the average sunset times during the
months of our shows. We also decided to take advantage of central
Illinois' longer summer weather by scheduling our fourth show during
the month of September."
