'Thunder,' 'Lighting' and the 'Energizer Bunny' lead LYF 4th through an undefeated season

[October 01, 2012]  Lincoln Youth Football fourth grade defeated the Springfield Boomers 24-13 in a hard-fought victory Sunday at Eaton Fields to finish the season 8-0 and win the league for the first time in the history of fourth-grade LYF.

"Great job, guys," said Steve Farris, of the LYF program. "We are so proud of you all."

Lincoln was led as always by "Thunder" and "Lightning" as well their sidekick, the "Energizer Bunny." Stephen Gleason ("Thunder") delivered 130 yards rushing, one touchdown, 10 tackles and one sack. Seth Tungate ("Lightning") had 120 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and Dylan Singleton (the "Energizer Bunny") had a 20-yard touchdown run and three tackles. Ethan Trimpe had four tackles, and Karson Boneaparte had five.

The coaches of the fourth-grade LYF undefeated team are Nate Bossingham, Tub Baker and Jason Trimpe.
