Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[October 02, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Monday afternoon, with wheat and soybeans closing lower.

Fund selling at the Board of Trade helped to push soybean and wheat futures lower.

The USDA's Weekly Crop Progress report indicated the Illinois corn harvest was now 71% complete, compared to 54% one week ago.

The state's soybean harvest had reached 22% done, compared to only 8% last week.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids steady to 1 cent higher at 7.24-7.47.

Soybean bids were 41 to 49 cents lower at 15.12-15.44.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were steady to 1 cent higher at 7.50-7.67.

Soybean bids were 41 to 52 cents lower at 15.38-15.55.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were steady to 1 cent higher at 7.44-7.72.

Soybean bids were 41 to 46 cents lower at 15.30-15.56.

Wheat bids were 16 to 20 cents lower at 8.49-8.70.
