Perrine asks the kids what he should put on next.

Putting the face mask on makes Perrine look very strange. It is part of the lesson to help kids know this is what a firefighter looks like when he is inside a burning building.

With all the gear on, Perrine is unrecognizable.

Staying down on the kids' level, Perrine continues demonstrating what they might expect if they are in a burning building and a fireman comes to rescue them.

When the firefighter puts on the oxygen, it makes a strange hissing noise and mottles Perrine's speech. Altogether the gear he's wearing weighs about 70 pounds.

These young men are taking it all in.  Maybe at least one of them is thinking of someday becoming a firefighter.

Outside, kids get a chance to practice their aim by shooting water at the burning house.

They also get the opportunity to get their picture taken as firemen and women themselves.
