[October 02, 2012]  CARLINVILLE -- The LCHS boys soccer team had a good weekend in Carlinville, going 2-1 and finishing in third place.

On Friday night, the Railers outplayed Greenville and came away with a 2-1 victory. Kyle Klockenga and Ryan Sloan scored the Lincoln goals. Klockenga's goal was assisted by Sloan.

In the semifinal game Saturday morning, the Railers fell victim to Freeburg 1-0 on a questionable penalty kick call.

In the third-place game Saturday afternoon, the Railers defeated Illinois Math and Science Academy of Aurora 5-3, despite being exhausted from playing four games in 48 hours. In the third-place victory, Lincoln’s goals were scored by Tommy Harris (1), Harry Splain (2) and Kyle Klockenga (2). Assists were given by Trace Splain, Colby Leith (2) and Harry Splain.
