[October 03, 2012]  The Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois has named Jacob Sexton as executive director. His first day with the agency was Oct. 1.

As executive director, Sexton will oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the Community Action Partnership to meet the requirements and guidelines of funding sources and the ever-changing needs of the agency’s program clients.

He will also be working closely with the governing board of directors to promote, achieve and maintain the mission and promise of Community Action.

"I look at this as an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself," said Sexton.

He comes to Community Action from Lincoln College, where he was serving as aquatics director, head swimming and diving coach, and taught classes in sociology and government.

He is a Lincoln College graduate and has gone on to achieve his MBA.

Community Action is a private organization that reported over $9 million in revenues in 2011. The agency serves six counties, employs over 120 people and administers grants from a variety of federal and state funding sources.
