SPRINGFIELD -- On Wednesday the
Lincoln College volleyball team traveled to Springfield for a Region 24
match versus Lincoln Land Community College. Lincoln College (10-10) was
defeated by Lincoln Land 25-15, 25-12, 26-24.

LC coach Mark Tippett commented: "I was very disappointed in the
effort our team put forth in the first two sets. We did not play
with much intensity on defense and made several careless mistakes
that led to easy points for our opponent. The main problem was our
poor passing out of serve receive. In set three we passed better and
started to play the kind of defense needed to compete. It is too bad
we had to wait until the third set to start playing at the level
needed to win against a quality team like LLCC. If we had started
the contest that way, I believe it would have been a close match. We
will be working hard to correct this issue in practice this week."

Lincoln College will host a triangular set of
matches on Saturday. LC will play SWIC at 10 a.m. and Oakton CC
at 2 p.m.
