[October 09, 2012]  Christopher Herzog of Lincoln has been named commercial loan officer for State Bank of Lincoln. In his new position, Herzog will specialize in evaluating and authorizing Small Business Association loans to local businesses, as well as providing guidance to the bank on state and federal regulatory compliance polices.

"We are excited to put Christopher's knowledge and experience to work for our customers in this community," said Steve Aughenbaugh, president of State Bank of Lincoln. "Besides his professional credentials, Christopher is a longtime local resident who knows the communities we serve well and is dedicated to seeing them prosper."

Herzog joins State Bank of Lincoln after spending 14 years with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in Springfield. He held a variety of positions there, including compliance consultant, project manager and loan administration manager. His work received a Wells Fargo Service Excellence Award several times. Prior to his employment, he graduated with honors from Lincoln Land Community College with an associate degree.

Herzog has been very involved in the Lincoln community since moving here in 2001. You can often hear him cheering loudly for his student athletes at Lincoln Community High School swim meets, where he serves as head coach of the swim teams. He also volunteers as an assistant coach for the Lincoln Aqua Lynx swim team, Railers Soccer Booster Club and the Lady Railers Booster Club.

"I'm excited to put my skills to work for this community because I love being a part of it," says Herzog. "It's much more than a place to work and meet clients. This is my home, and the people I serve are my neighbors and friends."

Herzog lives with his wife, Gretchen, a Lincoln native; his two active children, Elizabeth and Ian; and a new border collie puppy, Gunner.
