Lincoln (17-13) grabbed the early advantage by winning set one
25-20. In set two, the Lady Lynx fell behind early but managed to
overcome a late five-point deficit to tie the set at 22. However,
their comeback bid stalled and they eventually fell to the Eagles
23-25.
The loss seemed to fire up LC as they jumped out to a large lead
in set three behind the accurate serving of freshman defensive
specialist Alyssa Morales (Romeoville). Lincoln then cruised to a
25-9 win.
Set four was more competitive as the teams traded leads
throughout the early going. But Lincoln was able to grab the
momentum late in the set and held on for a 25-22 victory to end the
match.

LC coach Mark Tippett commented: "Tonight's win is a clear
indication of how much our team has improved over the course of this
season. When we played IVCC back in August, we lost to them in three
sets and did not play well at all. Since then our team has figured
out how to play together and what it takes to win at the college
level. It is very satisfying to see the hard work our players have
put into this season pay off in success on the court."
Lincoln College will be back in action Thursday evening as they
travel to Decatur for a match against the Millikin University JV
team.
