Students at Carroll Catholic observed Red Ribbon Week this week in a variety of ways, all designed to show them that they can have fun without doing drugs.

The event was sponsored by the student council. Throughout the year, the council organizes a variety of events for the students. The students will host a dance later in the school year. They are also planning events for Catholic Schools Week, and they host after-school and evening events for the whole family, such as roller skating. They also do a sucker fundraiser, selling suckers to the students.

This year's student council consists of nine members representing grades five through eight. They get together on a regular basis with their adviser, Ms. Winter.

On celebrity day, several ballplayers and rock stars were on hand at the school, including this member of the St. Louis Cardinals and none other than Justin Bieber.

Katy Perry seems to be having a bad hair day.

On celebrity day Principal David Welch chose to dress up as the school janitor, who according to the kids, is a real celebrity at their school.
