Petzoldt hired as LC assistant baseball coach

[October 27, 2012]  Lincoln College recently announced the hiring of Levi Petzoldt as assistant baseball coach. He is working with the position players.

In entering his first coaching season at Lincoln College, he is returning to where he pitched under head coach Tony Thomas. Petzoldt earned his associate degree while at Lincoln College. After his two years at Lincoln, he transferred to Fontbonne University, where he pitched for two years under head coach Ryan Good and received his bachelor’s degree in history, concentrated in secondary education.

Petzoldt is a graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Mo., where played and lettered in varsity baseball and football. This summer he was the head coach of the Jackson Legion eighth-grade baseball program. While he was doing his student teaching at Perryville High School in Perryville, Mo., he volunteered his time as an assistant coach at the varsity level. He also served as an assistant for the Jackson Senior Legion baseball program for the summer of 2010.

Petzoldt is living at Lincoln College as a resident assistant in the college residence halls. He is the son of Larry and LaDonna Petzoldt, of Altenburg, Mo. He has a sister who is attending Arkansas State University and a brother who is a senior in high school.
