ZLS Lady Eagles split with Decatur Lutheran School Association

[October 27, 2012]  The Zion Lutheran School Lady Eagles eighth-grade basketball team defeated the Decatur Lutheran School Association Lions on Thursday at ZLS by the score of 35-17.

Hailie Williams led ZLS with 17 points, equaling the score of her opponents. Six of Hailie's points came from the free-throw line, where she was 6 for 9.

Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were Anna Sielaff with 12 points, Tori Tripplett with four and Brooklyn Hermes with two.

Zion's eighth-graders are seeded first in the Logan County Athletic and Music Association tournament being played this weekend and Monday at West Lincoln-Broadwell.

The Zion Lutheran eighth-grade team has a seven-game winning streak and a current record of 7-1.

The Lady Eagles were defeated in the sixth-grade game 28-14 as the Lions doubled the ZLS score. Lane Prather led Zion with 10 points and Madelyn Koehler pitched in the other four. The ZLS sixth-graders are 0-2 for the season.
