CEL splits season opener

[October 31, 2012]  BLOOMINGTON -- The Chester-East Lincoln boys basketball squads split their season opener against Normal Calvary in the Cornerstone Christian Academy tournament.

The seventh-grade team got down early, trailing 14-2 at halftime, but made a nice comeback, only to come up short 29-24. Josh Vinson led the way with 14 points and four rebounds. Jordan Jacobs had five points, five steals and six rebounds.

The eighth-grade team had a good start to the season with a 33-12 win over Calvary. Drew Martin had 10 points and eight rebounds, Jacob Stauffer had nine points, and Mike Chi had six points and seven steals.
