It takes more than a little rain to dampen the spirits on Family Fun Fest day at Zion Lutheran School. Saturday afternoon amid sporadic rain showers and occasional high winds, the time of good food, fun and fellowship went on, drawing a nice crowd.

The outdoor plans included many games for the kids and also a dunking booth. For the games, the school pitched a large tent, and everyone was able to enjoy what was offered without getting wet. For the dunking booth -- well, the dunk-ee is bound to get wet eventually, so what does a little rain hurt? Those aiming at the target were able to stand under the tent and take their best shot.

Inside, food was going out by the plates full, as everyone knows that when ZLS puts on a meal, it is going to be terrific. The school served up roasted hog, boiled corn, sides and desserts.

There was also an auction, with local auctioneer Mike Maske doing the calling.
